
Donaldson Center Airport

Greenville Army Air Base opened in 1942 during World War II. It was subsequently known as Greenville Air Force Base. In 1951 it was renamed Donaldson Air Force Base, to pay tribute to Captain John O. Donaldson, a World War I flying pro. The U.S. Aviation based armed forces declared Donaldson's boink conclusion in 1962. The City and County of Greenville took title of the offices in 1964 and named it Donaldson Center Industrial Air Park.
Donaldson Field Airport covers an area of 1,300 sections of land (530 ha) which contains one runway assigned 5/23 with 8,000 x 150 ft (2,438 x 46 m) substantial asphalt.
For the year time frame finishing October 31, 2005, the air terminal had 45,375 airplanes activities, a normal of 124 every day: 84% general aeronautics, 10% air taxi and 6% military. Around then there were 83 airplanes based at this air terminal: 80% single-motor, 14% multi-motor and 6% stream.
The site is additionally home to an Army Aviation Support Facility of the South Carolina Army National Guard which opened on February 19, 2014.
In 2019, Lockheed Martin laid out creation of the F-16V (Viper) at a shed at the air terminal.
